Wush Wush is a varietal that originated in Ethiopia and it is named after the small coffee growing town of Wushwush.

This coffee is produced by Israel Degfa in Woreda of Adola, Guji region. It is an heirloom variety, growing at an altitude of 2000-2300 masl. Growing conditions are forested with red clay soil. It is grown by a handfull of local smallholders and brought to the Adola Washing Station in Guji for processing.

The Wush Wush flavor is intoxicating. As the coffee cools there is a deep chocolate note that lingers beneath the juicy candied fruit. The finish is clean with a distinct note of rooibus tea. This is a very interesting coffee, and I have to say it may not be for everyone. But, if you are adventurous and open minded and you’ll find yourself craving for another cup of this very unique gem from the Oromia region of Ethiopia. This cup makes drinking coffee fun.
