This coffee comes from smallholder farmers who deliver their ripe cherry to the Biru Bekele Washing Station in the popular coffee- producing region of Guji in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. The station is named after its founder, Biru Bekele, who nearly 20 years ago recognized the potential of the region for growing amazing coffees and sought to even further elevate the coffee produced there. The Guji region of Ethiopia is known for producing some of the world’s best coffees and visionaries such as Biru Bekele created even further processes at the washing station level to ensure remarkable and unique coffees.
